Let us give you a weekly breakdown of what will happen if you sign up for your granny flat now!

Before that, we want you know that we have a special offer – we don’t want to bore you with the details here, but to give you a brief rundown – if you sign up by August 31st, you will get a $597 worth site assessment, feasibility report and building estimate for $197 and free kitchen upgrades if you build with us.

SO, for the weekly breakdown –

Week 1 (August 1–7): 

Site assessment with builder: A one-hour first meeting with the builder where you can discuss your ideas, understand your backyard’s potential and get to know a true price indication for the granny flat you want to build. 

Note: The date range says 7 days because the assessment depends on you and the builder’s availability.

After the assessment, you will be given a detailed feasibility report and a price estimate. All this is covered in the week.  

Week 24 (August 8 – 21): 

Property investigation, final design and quote: Assuming you are still in talks with the builder and have confirmed your interest, the next week will see your builder coming over to your property for site and contour survey, get technical information and work with a team of engineers and draftsmen to give you a final granny flat design and a fixed price quote.  

Week 4-10 (August 22 – September 30): 

Council approval process: Yes, this is where half the time goes. And that is why you need to get started now. If your council requires Planning Approval, your builder will submit the documents and drawings for approval and it will take anywhere between 6-8 weeks for the council to approve. Then a building licence can be applied for. Once the approvals are in place, your property is ready for construction.

Note: if you don’t need planning approval we can submit a Certified Building Application and be on the ground much faster. 

Week 11: (October 1 – 7): 

Site preparation and slab down:  

Builders and tradies are now on-site.

You will see your property getting ready, ground leveled, concrete mixed and the slab going down.

Congratulations! Time for the Slab Party!

Week 12 – 20 (October 8 – December 3): 

Building process: 

Once the slab is down, it will take between 10-12 weeks for the granny flat to be built. For the purpose of this post, we have taken an 11-week timeframe.

During this time, you can see your granny flat being transformed from just a vision to a reality.

At the end of the building period you will have your dream granny flat ready to move in, in your backyard!  

Week 21 (December 4- December 10): 

Now you have the keys for your new granny flat. You can fill it in with furniture, family and fun!

Go ahead decorate it for Christmas and start the countdown for the festival!
